Recycled Chandelier, Madrid

FITUR TEMPORARY PAVILION, COMPETITION WINNING ENTRY, 2012

Recycled Chandelier is an installation designed by Binom Architects for the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Affairs for the Fitur 2012 Fair in Madrid.

An intriguing landscape of hanging recycled cardboard tubes is designed to frame the promotion of the “Rural Spain”.

The eye–catching freeform geometry is achieved by the clever repetition of a single module of ceiling tubes, where integrated lighting and prints will encourage the visitors to wander around exploring the highlights of the Spanish landscapes.

Visually striking, the theatrical installation provides great flexibility to organize the contents of the exhibition and manages to organize the 500m2 using subtle boundaries instead of vertical barriers that would obstruct the views.
